Reporter/Anchor/Host Born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised on the south shore of Long Island, Dana is a trained broadcast journalist and seasoned public speaker. A former radio announcer, Dana has also worked in television, film, and theater over the past 26 years. Her experience includes: • WERS-FM (News Anchor/DJ) • The Evvy Awards (Host) • Walt Disney World, EPCOT (Host and Presenter) • “Romper Room” (children’s program) • “New York Undercover” (defunct TV series) • “Clockers” (Spike Lee film) • “Vanities” (theater) A gifted communicator and prolific writer, Dana Morgan has written manuscripts for a book for young women, a feature-film screenplay, and a children's book. Her writings have also been published on the web, and in daily and weekly newspapers. In 2009, Dana was awarded a full scholarship to pursue the highly regarded CELTA teacher certification administered by the University of Cambridge (England). She is certified as a teacher of English language to adults, graduating among the top 10% of graduates world-wide. At the age of 15, she was signed with famed Shirley Grant Management—the talent agency credited with discovering Keshia Knight Pulliam (“The Cosby Show”), and The Jonas Brothers. She also worked as an operations consultant for Sephora in New York City, where she was selected to be trained as a company trainer. She has hosted and emceed numerous fashion shows and charity events. Dana graduated cum laude from the honors program at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts, where she majored in Broadcast Journalism. The highlight of her numerous experiences in media and entertainment came in 2001 when she became the first African-American woman to represent Massachusetts at Miss USA--the nationally televised pageant co-owned by Donald Trump and NBC. In 1999, she won the title of Miss Jamaica US. Dana won her very first pageant title in 1995 when she was crowned Miss Junior Teen Cities of America in Orlando, Florida. |
